Thumbs up Great timber

Just been to James' place and picked up a load of timber. Not only did I get a heap of great timber for box making but I also picked up some very nice black wood for my next furniture project. Only problem was that I needed a bigger car and a trailer to fit it all in. Great price and some very nice timber. Thanks for your time and assistance picking out the furniture timber James.

Default UPDATE on BOX TIMBER

As I was planning a trip via Rochester I phoned James to check on his progress with sorting timber. He has a busy life at the moment including a full-time job, renovating his house, a young family and when there is a spare moment - his hobby of milling salvaged timber.

So far not much timber has been sorted to separate shorts, but James kindly agreed to find me a very nice slab of King Billy Pine, and a mix of small pieces of Myrtle, Sassafras, Huon Pine and Redgum. Some of the timber has outstanding grain figuration, and it will be a pleasure to dress it and see what is revealed. He has great enthusiasm for milling this type of timber, and supplying it to woodworkers who appreciate it's qualities. Thanks again James for spending the time to find suitable pieces.

The drying and storage setup for slabs is impressive, providing a 10 year air- drying program.

The other forum members who are following this thread & waiting for timber, should be reassured that they have not been overlooked. James will get back to you when he has time to progress with sorting.
