Buttons for box feet?
Has anyone ever come across small flat nylon discs, adhesive backed, about 10mm diameter and 3 mm thick that can be used as feet on small boxes? Black is the preferred colour.
Alternatively, can anyone suggest anything else that would be suitable, please?regards,
Dengy

Hi Dengy,
I just use the small black rubber feet that you can buy from hardware shops. They stick well and look smart. If you have oil on the bottom of the box, then a light sand over the spot where you are going to put the feet is a good idea. Just ask the sales guy if he has small, sticky feet.

Another option I've used at times is the plugs that cover the heads of countersunk screws in flatpacks. Not the ones that force-fit into the phillip-head slots of the screw but the ones that are basically little cups with slightly tapered sides for a force fit into the hole. (Like any good plug. )
On the odd occasion I've done this I use an appropriate size straight-flute bit in a plunge-able trim router and set the depth to 1,5-2mm, so they're not set in "all the way", giving 'em a bit of height. Fill the caps with araldite, place them in the holes and leave the box upside down while the epoxy sets.
I usually put a board & weight on top, keeping the plugs firmly pressed down in place... don't want the odd one to 'float' nor allow epoxy to leak out where 'tis not wanted...

I use leather for everything I make. Boxes, chairs, tables & cabinets. It is classier than rubber, it glues well to timber, and you can cut to whatever size you want.

Bunnings I think I get em from, self adhesive. Or maybe the box bits guy at the wood show last year. I can't remember. I'm out at the wood show this weekend in Sydney and if he's there, want me to pick some up for you?

Thanks for the posts, everyone. The ones Fumbler displayed are the ones I am after, but the others look suitable too. Will wander in to Bunnings today.
Wongo, apologies, I pressed the wrong link, and could not unpress it. I don't really need pics. .
What glue do you use to glue the leather to the timber base ? Sounds a neat idearegards,
