Cedar Jewellery Box
Finished at last, a commissioned jewellery box, a little different perhaps. Built from red cedar, the lady needed some space to keep her jewellery and hand it down to the family as an heirloom in years to come. The drawers were traditionally hand dovetailed. The box measure 360mm long x 230 high and 220 deep. The ends and back were made with fielded panels set in grooves in a frame. The top features maple burl veneered panels. The bandings and motifs were designed and hand made from cedar, silver ash and walnut.

Here was I thinking your main claim to fame was turning but it looks like you can turn your hand to most things and get the same great result. Tremendous amount of work and looks exquisite.
What did you use for your finish?Dallas
