Default Cremation urn, ARC & silky oak

My latest commission, a cremation urn in Australian red cedar and southern silky oak. The ashes are contained in an acrylic box inside the urn.

Very nice work Alex, and very sad also, only 39 years old.

Beautiful lines, Alex. Are the sides curved? The grain on the ARC is spectacular!

Thanks Brian. The sides are curved - I planed & scraped them to shape. The cedar I've had for about 35 years - I bought (very cheaply) a load of offcuts from a bloke who'd built a stone house in the southern highlands and used ARC for all the fixtures.

    I like that you've incorporated the acrylic box. It's a seal-able box, I assume?

My dog is a brick and I suspect that the next time I visit Mum I'll find that Dad's a brick too.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

I didn't make the box, but it is well made and the lid is a firm fit. It was also laser engraved by Kopycut.
