Welcome to the forum Robson Valley, thank you for generous comment. I enjoy the process which I also incorporate in my woodturning and furniture projects.
Attached is a photo of my first attempt that lead me into more adventurous endeavours....cheers Kerry

Great work. I'll be showing SWMBO then attempting to explain why she does not have one

I am both surprised and delighted that my entry could have spawned the creative excursion that you have made. Diverse talent, is all I can say.
For my own part, I want to carve things distinctive but separate and apart from the PacNWest Native Indian "Thing". I am not related to those guys. I respect that I can't stand on their shoulders. I have no iconography, I simply carve what I "see(?)" in the pieces of wood. I have been very careful not to attempt to incorporate or mimic nor imitate any designs they use.

You know? I found a German carving website where they had tried to copy PacNWestCoast stuff. How sad. They had the form lines, the fine lines, OK, but nothing else what so ever was real. Shallow, pasty. Poor sods.

Your worst nightmare will come true: I am working again on learning how to do digital photography. My career in 4x5 (analog) work doesn't apply here. I hope that I will learn how to display some of what I enjoy so much.
