With this design did the back of the lid at the top need to be raidiused to allow for the lid to rotate inside the back wall? Can't tell from the angle of the photos.
The finished box looks very neat.
I hope you have a great time in NZ. I am heading back over on Monday for work, but won't get any time for any further sightseeing.

Hi Dallas, Yes I allowed 1mm gap. Basically what I did was centre my 2.5mm holes 5mm in from the end of the lid. Then transferred equivalent measurements to the sides but 6mm in from the end for everything to line up. Then on the lid a bit of radiusing on my belt sander to give a nice semi circle. Having it all prepared and jointed DRY, lets you make sure it will all work OK, before the glue up.

So what sort of job do you have in NZ? We're travelling to Sydney this sunday on the XPT, then fly out on Monday morning for about 7 weeks.

We have a new machine being built by a company in Christchurch and I am heading over to do the factory acceptance testing with our Engineer before they send it over and install it. Our Engineers is flying out from Sydney at 9:35 so you might be on the same flight.
