The ribbons are about 3 mm thick and each curl was glued to the end of the piece of flat ribbon. The curl was half rebated to locate the end of the ribbon to give a large glue area. I left the straight ribbons long at that stage so you had something to hold when the mitres were put on the curls.
The box was then rebated with about 2 mm deep groove x the width of the ribbon. This was done before I cut the lid off....
This made lining up the 4 pieces much easier to create the bow.
When all the bits were finished it then gave a large area to glue the pieces to the box.And my head I'd be a scratchin'

Beautifull box Ruddy . Luv the curls . I am enthusiastic about Tassie myrtle and have used quite a bit but I have not had any with the deep colour of the myrtle in your box . Looks Great
