Hexagonal Dovetailed Box
G'day all,
Over the last 18 months I have been fiddling with the concept of making hexagonal boxes with dovetail joinery. After much experimentation and a certain amount of frustation, I have developed a way of doing it by modifying a Gifkins A10 Jig. The photos show the first completed box after finalising the modifications and the process. The box is made from Jarrah and Huon Pine with a Huon Burl Panel.
Some of you may have seen this box on display at Rogers stand during earlier T&WWW shows. It will be on display again next week at the Melbourne show. I am in the middle of writing up a 'How To" which will eventually be available on the Gifkins Web Site.
Hope you like it.
Regards
Greg

Beautiful workmanship! I love the figured wood on the top. Very inovative.

My compliments are added to above. You must find it difficult to follow that one.
