Question how to inlay a cloth patch?

    Hi guys

At work I have had a couple of guys ask me to make them medal boxs as they are just back from deployment.
They want our parachute wings (cloth) inlayed into the top of the box. I was just wondering has anybody had any experience inlaying fabric into wood and how to do it?

    thanks

    Jared

Rout a shallow rebate slightly larger than the cloth patch. Place the patch in the rebate and fill with clear casting resin. The only other way I can think of is to mount the patch under a glass window.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

You can get it at Bunnings or any other hardware store. Specialised paint places can also order it in for you. Some people use the resin from fiberglass kits although I don't know how well that works. I'd go for the casting resin from Bunnings or the hardware store.
