Jewellery box for rings
A friend of my wife recently commissioned me to make her a jewellery box for up to 20 rings. The pictures below show my efforts. The bottom half of the box is Camphor Laurel and the lid is made of Jarrah and Queensland Karri Pine. Finished with ubeaut traditional wax (neutral).
I hope you like it!

Nice job, I like it. Some cool grain in that Camphor too.
So is the only finish on it the Trad wax? I would suggest a couple of coats of Danish oil to seal and protect the timber. Then again, maybe you wanted to keep the strong scent of the Camphor?I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Thanks for the nice comments. I did use 2 coats of miniwax wipe-on satin varnish to seal the timber before applying the traditional wax. I like using minimax's wipe-on finishes - they don't leave any brush marks but I prefer finishing with the traditional wax to gives a smooth silky look and feel to wood.

Very nice. excellent choice of timbers. Looks like she will get more than 20 rings in there quite comfortably.
