A Jewelry Box for My Daughter
DSCN4565.JPGDSCN4562.jpgDSCN4563.jpg
My daughter helped us with a big painting project this summer and I wanted to show her that we appreciated her help. I made her a jewelry box. The sides are walnut wood with an inlay of hard maple. The top is a glue up of maple and walnut. After sanding down to 400 grit, a finish of four coats of water based polycrylic was sprayed on sanding with 400 grit paper between coats. Blue felt was used to line the tray and bottom of the box. I was happy with the results and so was my daughter.
I hope you enjoy the post and all comment are welcome.
Thanks for looking,
Bob

Thanks for sharing Bob. Looks great.

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Alright! Now you're just boasting, you smarty-pants. I just responded to the one for your granddaughter and I can only reiterate the request.
If only mere mortals could approach such a project.
Well done, and you must want your daughter to do some more work around your house
Cheers

I held my own hand as a small sign of trust, and together I sat on the fence.

Very neat, I love Walnut and the way it contrasts well with so many different timbers.

Something refreshing! It looks simple but very appealing.
