Mananita Blackwood And Huon Pine Ring Box
This box came about when i was looking at a bit of off cut Huon pine that had some bark left on it which i thought would make a nice (different) handle. i thought it matched well with the Manzanita so i went about it. I used the Blackwood for the inner box because the offcuts were the right size and the same reason again for the Huon Pine Insert tray. When completed it was a bit tricky trying to lift the outer box because the handle wasn't high enough so i slotted in the circular Blackwood piece. Finished with burnishing oil and wax.

Spectacular grain makes this a stunning box. Very wel done.
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
