MAPLEMAN's camphor stump
Well Hi All,
It has been a long while since I last posted, but after purchasing about half the boards that came from Mapleman's Camphor "stump", I thought I should share the fruits of the purchase.
It is a keepsake box, 400 mm w x 270 mm d x 320 mm H. It has a lift out trinket tray with pop off lid. Internal lining is the Carbatech flock. Fairly simple to apply.
The box is finished with 10 or so coats of Scandinavian oil, rubbed back with 1200 grit between coats. Then applied 3 coats of canauba wax with a lambswool buff after each application.
In total, it took about 70 hours over the span of several months to complete. The first photo is the 10 pieces of stock that I started with. All ripped down the centre, run thru the thicky and book matched as bet I could. Sorry about the photos being upside down, but for the life of me I could not work how to change them.
Happy for comments.

Thanks Dallas, how did you do that? No matter what I tried (even saved them upside down) I could not get them up the right way. Any tips appreciated.

Not sure what system you are using Apple or Microsoft but it seems that those using Apple have trouble with the orientation of photos posted here.
I am using Windows and there is a program called Snipping Tool built in which allows me to open your photo and copy and save it exactly as you see it on the screen.
I then open it in Photoshop (but you should be able to open it in any viewer) and rotate it 180° and then save again. Put the new version in your post
If you are using Apple on your computer it may not work as I have no knowledge of their system.Dallas

Cheers Dallas, thanks for the information. Using Windows 10, so I will give it a go.
Cheers,
Greg.
