Miniature Hinges
G'day
Can anyone tell me where I can buy miniature hinges in Australia please
The wood is about 12mm thick
I would like them to be like a very small kitchen cabinet hinge
except that in this case the 2 sections are butt joined by the hinge ( or edge to edge )
That is the hinge is at 90 deg. when closed and 180 deg plus when open
and concealed when closed
Thanks

I think I understand the sort of hinge you want. I believe the term is "full overlay" meaning that when closed the door (or lid) fully covers the edge of the box.
Unfortunately, from what I've found online because you need to drill a hole 12 or 13mm deep, the minimum wood thickness to use a kitchen cabinet style hinge is 16mm.

Do a search at Aliexpress.com. They have lots of spring loaded minature hinges. I use them often and the service is good.

image.jpgI think what you're after is a Soss hinge.
available from Hafele, Hettich or Wilson & Bradley.

Thanks for those leads
I will chase up any that I have not already done so
most do not suit timber that is as thin as I am using
And that " Soss " hinge is similar to the McJing cross hinge

In a word NO but I can leave the back a bit thicker and cut a strip of wood about 5mm thick and glue it on the underside of lid
In addition once thicknessed and sanded my choice of timber is more like 10mm to 11mm thick
I will try using these hinges https://mcjing.com.au/Static/Images/h312.jpg
If it works ok I can post a picture later

Thanks for the feedback, and good luck with the barrel hinges. You will find lots of valuable information on fitting these in the Forum Library under Box Bits, in case you were unaware of this
