    Default How I make a mitered Bridle joint

    For those of you who asked about this joint I used on my last two box lids, here is what I do. I posted it on another page so it would be easier to see the pictures and read the proccess at the same time. Hope this helps.

    Another way of making mitred bridle joints is shown in post #11 and #20 in this thread: http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com...ad.php?t=21448 . I use a dado set and a different sort of tenoning jig to cut the slot and tenon in single passes. My tenoning jig, for which the plans are downloadable from my blog below, runs in the table-saw slot and is micro-adjustable, so, using a digital caliper to measure the distance between the dado-set blades and the face of the tenoning jig, it is easy to set it up correctly.
