Default Pommele Sapele and Red Bean Box

Just finished this box which is from one of the Box Making Kits we are now supplying ,the same style as the Tamo Ash box from last week . The top and bottom veneered panels are rebated ino the sides to deal with the ply edges and add a bit of strength . The banding is a bit of Silver Ash to lighten the box and flocked with Royal Blue flocking which is a very easy way to line a box and looks great. The finish is Scandinavian Oil sanded between coats and cut back before being buffed.

    Cheers Bruce

Nice boxes: simple, classic and elegant design. Can't fault that!

Top rate in every way. The silver ash contrast is a winner.

    Hi Jack ,
I haven't put the Red Bean and Sapele kits on the web just yet , I will do it tomorrow arvo. The kits consist of of 2 sides about 300mm. x 75 x 12mm. and 2 sides 150 x 75 12 mm. sanded to 120 grit . The bottom is veneered Red Cedar on 6mm. ply while the top is the same dimensions with Pommele Sapele and the price for these packs is $49.95 .I do play with the grain direction on the top panel , some go from side to side and some from front to back , thats the good thing with working with veneers it allows for a bit more creative freedom.
    Cheers Bruce

That looks absolutely gorgeous! I don't suppose you ship to the States?

    Hi Cisco ,
I have sent timber like this to the States before without any problems , the postage works out to be $38.50 for registered airmail , $33.30 normal airmail and $22.80 by sea.
    Cheers Bruce.

    Hi Jack ,
the postage around Oz is alot cheaper , $8.80 regular mail or $12.50 in an express bag and because the weight limit is 3kg. 2 packs can be sent for that price.

    Cheers Bruce
