    Default A very sad box

Hi gang, A very sad box here. My son is a Minister at Molong (Baptist Church). I know a lot of people there, one being a chap named Bill, part of the congregation. Not too long ago Bill got cancer. I kept asking my son how Bill was, and when we went over there a month or so ago, son told me I would not recognise Bill. But Bill was in hospital on the day of Church. Then not long after we got home, I enquired how Bill was,...............he's dead. Could not believe it. Happened so fast. Bill was about 50, very fit, farmer, married late in life, wife and two young kids.

My son told me a couple of weeks ago he was talking with Bill's wife, saying how he would always wear his watch, ring and glasses, all the time. She said she just put them into a drawer. So this is a box for Bill's watch, wedding ring and glasses.

Took a bit of planning, to accommodate 3 different shapes.

Such a sad story but you have honored him in such an elegant way. Very well thought out box which I'm sure Bill's wife will cherish.
I trust his little family is being well cared for by the church members.

Hi and thanks everyone. And yes Dallas its a very close knit community out that way. Central Western NSW.

Just for interest, the timber is Bolly Silkwood. Lovely to work with. And of course the lid insert is ARC.

What a lovely idea, Paul. Cherished mementos are so easily lost; your beautiful box is a tribute in itself so together with the contents it will make a true heirloom for the family.

    Best regards,

    Brian
