Sassafras Jewellery Box
Some time ago a friend returned from Tasmania with a nice collection of Sassafras and asked me to make his daughter a Jewellery Box in exchange for some of his stash.
The colour was superb and created what I thought was a very attractive box.....C&C welcome.

Very nice work and arrangement.
Sassy is a gorgeous timber esp. when you get a good section with all the colors...beige, chocolate, black...even bits of green and purple sometimes. I've been lucky enough to make a couple of huge dining tables from it and they were to die for.
Insanely expensive stuff though.Every time you make a typo, the errorists win.

Love sassy. I often combine it with walnut, which I think go really well together. Love your box. Excellent work.

Wow, what a great result. I'd be interested in hearing how you created the ripple effect on the box?

The ripple effect is certainly unique, but I like the plugs of darker material on the front and rear of the box. Well thought out.
