In search of a box maker?
Hello to all you box makers out there. I have just stumbled across this web site after making endless calls to local wood turners and joiners in the Brisbane locality. I must confess that I am somewhat lost in how to approach my request.
I am seeking to commission a skilled "box maker" to make an individualised box for me. I am seeking someone who ideally may be able to make to order in larger quantities, should my "dream" prove successful. I have samples that have been made off shore, however the quality that I desire is sorely lacking. I am based in Brisbane, and wish to work face to face with my skilled "box maker". If anyone is interested, or may know of a friend of a friend.......I would LOVE to hear from you.
My fingers are crossed in hope that someone out there in cyber space will hear my plea.
Cheers,
Rusty Lass

Hi Rusty Lass, what sort of boxes are you after?
Individualised to start with, sure, but a few more details would help.
For example, rustic, shaker, arts 'n craft, art deco, band sawn boxes etc etc etc
If possible, are you able to post pictures of the boxes you have to give us a starting point of reference?
thanks

Yes, more info required. There are lots of great box makers out there. (And you would probably want something unique). Let's have some idea of what you want. A jewelry box? Blanket, router bits!!!

At least you've come to the right place
There was a young boy called Wyatt
Who was awfully quiet
And then one day
He faded away
Because he overused White
Floorsanding in Canberra and Albury.....

Hey, don't talk that way about Rusty Lass! It's been lonely as hell since Rustypom stopped posting! You'll scare her off! Bad enough that all the chicks that walk around in Rusty brand clothing don't buy my argument that if it's got my name on it, then it's mine. And that thread about rust removal? What the hell did I do? As for rust never sleeps, gimme a break, no wonder I'm always knackered...*
Rusty.
P.S. Rusty Lass, I'm crap at boxmaking, sorry. Can we still get married? The perfect is the enemy of the good.

Needing to work face-to-face with a skilled "box-maker" looks suss. But let's have some details. I'm betting on a cypress dovetailed coffin
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.
