    Default smartHinge Availability

    Hi All,

I am after a pair of smartHinge's for a keepsake box for my niece. The box is complete except for the hinges.

The website shows they are out of stock. Does anyone know of their availability or have any surplus to their needs? I am happy to pay for the hinges + postage.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

This is the box. It is my second attempt so I am fairly happy with it. The lid is Blackwood and the sides are WA Sheoak.

I have to thank everyone on this forum as I have learnt the processes from these threads.

Hopefully the hinges are in stock shortly.

    Cheers

    not a bad looking box

though I think it would look better with two more splines at each corner (just my opinion)

    do you really need hinges?
would a pull off lid work just as well?
the lid can be converted to a pull-off if you line the edges of the lid with 2.5-3mm thick material (mitred at the corners) -- the lining will serve to align the lid and keep it in place.

Are these the hinges you are looking for?

This photo is from Carrolls Woodcraft Supplies $9.50 in stock.
I have also bought these from Carbatec.
Beyond Tools in Perth also stock them so other branches may do in SA.
