Spotted Gum Box Learning Experience
This a box I made out of some spotted gum offcut decking boards from Bunnies.
The boards were cupped slightly, although I tried to flatten them as best I could, they weren't perfect and hence the mitres weren't 100%, but having said that they came out ok.
I bookmatched the top with an interesting piece of grain and then decided to round over the top of the box and I think this came out ok.
Unfortunately I used pine for the splines, because it was all I had at the time, some of them chipped or cracked when inserting them... learning experience there.
I lined the inside of the box with felt... I am happy with the result but not over the moon, I will try something different on next box. I also used camphor on the inside of the box and I like it but probably should have found something to contrast.
Over all pretty happy with how it turned out.

Good to see someone at the trial and error stage like me. Looks like it has come up pretty well from the photos.
How have you attached the felt?Dallas
