Default Tassie Blackwood Document Box

Hello all,
My latest document box with wooden hinges for my neice's boyfriend's 30th.

Not much variation on previous themes however used a solid one piece lid instead of a picture frame lid.

Tassie Blackwood and Spalted Myrtle lid.

335mm x 225mm x 115mm, the box includes a lift out tray and wooden hinges with brass pins.

I was fairly happy with the end result and made in just 2 Sunday sessions!

regards

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.

Also find him in the Market Place Timber section.

Hi Steve,
Yes the lining is leather, the last of my scraps from an upholsterer.
I need to buy a couple of pig skins before my next projects.

very nice work!
Do you have the lid panel floating in the mitred frame or is expansion not really an issue here?

Hi Clint,
Yes the lid is floating. Previously I have done a 'picture frame' surround around the feature lid piece and floated it, but this is direct.
