Anyone tried a sliding dovetail for side-to-base joins?
Am wondering how it would look, with the side pin/base socket exposed and the base then rounded over with a standard 1/4 round bit. If I have thought it through enough, would be able to get three sides dovetailed into the base, and then the back would need to be some other join. For the front corners of the base, it might start looking too busy, or quite nifty, or just naff. Clear as mud?

Will have a crack and post some pictures when done. Might take a while though. Am hoping the contrast between side and end grains might be quite nice. Time will tell I guess.
*Editing to add* I'm not getting any notifications of threads and it says I have not subscribed to any, even this one, even though I started it. Is there a setting somewhere I need to change please?Last edited by dropstix; 25th June 2017 at 08:37 AM. Reason: to add a question

Yes, you need to be posting in "Go advanced' mode then there is a section titled "Subscription" tick the box (otherwise nothing works) then select "instantly by email" to get immediate feedback (or daily by email if that is enough for you etc.)
