How the hell does that happen? I'm ultra careful about not getting glue spots on my bench, work on a towel or non-slip mat, yet there always seems to be one of the little b.....s appear when you oil it!I had to start again on the lid as 2 scratches magically appreared on the first time I did a final rub down.

It's the shed poltergeist, it comes in at night time and scuff things up for the hell of it. I believe mine were hidden initially by sanding dust, then wrong light angle when applying first coat , then again wrong angle whilst buffing out 2nd nd 3rdcos, 4th coat and Whalla!! there they are.
