I had to start again on the lid as 2 scratches magically appreared on the first time I did a final rub down.
How the hell does that happen? I'm ultra careful about not getting glue spots on my bench, work on a towel or non-slip mat, yet there always seems to be one of the little b.....s appear when you oil it!

It's the shed poltergeist, it comes in at night time and scuff things up for the hell of it. I believe mine were hidden initially by sanding dust, then wrong light angle when applying first coat , then again wrong angle whilst buffing out 2nd nd 3rdcos, 4th coat and Whalla!! there they are.

I do have possums that like to short cut through my garage and knock stuff off shelves but it wasn't them.
