    Default xmas present

I had this box partly made when I received a phone call from client recommended to me, wanting a jewellery box for his daughter for Xmas.
A rush job to finish it,will be picked up tomorrow.
Birdseye huon pine veneer with blackwood inserts, mauve felt lining supplied.
    I hope she appreciates it.
    merry Xmas to you all,
    nine fingers.

Stunningly gorgeous box. Looks like the sides slope in a bit, do they?

The purple lining is an interesting contrast, but works well.

The birdseye huon is beautiful. The inserts look incredibly light for blackwood.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Hi Zenwood, Yes the sides 90mm high with about 10 degrees of slope.
The daughter supplied the lining so I couldn't comment on the colour.
Blackwood was cut from the same piece ,can only guess that the camera angle or light made the bottom trim look pale. Her dad picked it up about an hour ago ,very pleased with the it.
    merry Xmas again nine fingers.

Beautiful box mate - really nice. Glad I cut up those light coloured timbers now - you have proven that they can look great when done right. (in the hope that I can also 'do it right' )
