    Default Zebra Wood Veneer

This is the last of this particular veneer i bought a few years ago. All mitre joins with sharp lines cause thats really the only option. The trims and handle are Black Bean which matches perfectly and blends right in. Lined throughout with leather and finished with HBO and and a generous coat of Pete's Polish.
Speaking of polish, i have been using Traditional brand wax for a while but i could never get it to work, it would always feel sticky and and finger marks were always achievable even though the label said this would not be the case. I thought the HBO was the cause but i experimented with leaving the oil dry for some weeks before waxing but it made no difference and i still could not get a sheen. Pete's polish makes no claims but delivers the finish i am looking for on fresh oil with only a hand buff.

Very nice Double D. Let me see if I can find a couple of pics of a recent box I made with some Zebra Wood.

    Looks great Double.D.

Unfortunately I don't have a box recently made of Zebra Wood - however I have just bought a beautiful Zebra Wood veneer guitar. It has a Vintage Sunburst finish to add a little more depth to the grain.

Thanks Keith. I have never had any luck with single sided veneering on timber so i use MDF which stays straight.

Ingredients are pure bees wax, Carnuaba wax and pure gum turpentine and it has an acceptable odour.

I bought a couple of tubs at the www show but you can buy it on line here Home - petespolish.net
