    Default circle cutting,

Have made my own jig, with lots of predrilled holes marked out for different size holes.
It works but I feel I should/could do better, but having nothing to compare it with who knows

Yeah I can buy premade from online but are they any better than what Ive made.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

Pictures have vanished, but you might be able to understand the description.

    Router Compass

I found the pictures on another computer; I'll try to upload them.

Here is a jig I made to cut circles for blast gates. It has a rebated slot cut to take a metal slider with a 6mm pin. Just loosen the knob and move the slider to set the diameter. I use a 1/4" bit in the router. I recently needed to cut some smaller dia circles than this was made to do so I extended the rebate underneath the jig closer to the router and made an extended metal plate with the pin offset to the lock knob.

If it works, why change? We used to have one just like what you have and it was great, I called it our CNC cos it Cut Nice Circles

Then we got a real CNC...

Jig saws are also a good method to implement if your circle jig is versatile .

I cut as best I can with the jigsaw or bandsaw, but then trim on the router table with a jig.
It means two machines, but works for me!

I copied from utube similar to Flintlock out of MDF very happy with it, so much so that I'll buy some thick clear acrylic or similar and make it again. Clear so I can see more whats happening, doesnt help when the 1/4" router bit hadn't been tightened properly and decided to part company from router...

today I bought an attachment for one of the wifes Dremels, a router stand. What a neat piece of kit, hyas a plate for sliding along straight work but also a narrower plate where you can stuff a nail through into your board a router light little holes. (hmmm might send one to a political party I know) Its a neat little piece

Almost exactly the same as I did except I made my slider from metal.

I knocked this one up today for my Milwaukee cordless trim router. Just a bit of 3mm steel with 2 M6 holes. One with a 6mm pin & a screw with wing nut in the other to clamp it in position. Fits to the standard fence support.

Can anyone hazard a guess as to how much "force" the pivot in the centre of the cut circle is under? I want cut some circles, but I don't want nail holes in the middle, and I'm not 100% confident that double sided tape will both hold and release without tearing the surface of the timber.

It occurs to me that a lazy susan bearing on a piece of rubber sheet (or my non-slip router mat) might serve as a central pivot instead of making a hole. The question is how much weight would I need to sit on it to stop it moving... 5Kg? 10kg? Or do I need to move the entire system under the gantry and use a bottle jack to make a giant hydraulic press? (Kidding.. I hope!)

    Any ideas?
