Finger joint sled
Here's the almost finished finger joint sled I have been making. It's out by the tiniest amount, so will get some feeler gauges today to adjust, the fingers are not quit snug enough. I still have to assemble the adjusters. Test piece pictured also.

Made with reclaimed parts and off cuts, and even scribble on the timber from my daughter. The 4head spiral cutter however cost less than $10 from China.

Good to see you are not letting your thumb hold you up
I made a sled a while ago and use the spiral bit I got from aldav and get a nice clean cut. I made mine to have interchangable face plates so I could cut different width fingers but now I have it dialed in for the 1/4" I don't really want to change it. Maybe I will one day. I put screw adjusters at each end so I could adjust the faceplate with them which makes dialing it in pretty easy so I'm sure when the right job comes along I will change to a different size.Dallas

Yeah, it's painful but agreed, I'm getting on. I'm happy with the 1/4" at the moment, but I just have to check the cutter is totally perpendicular to the board as it seems slightly off but nothing that can't be adjusted. I have to put the adjuster posts up yet. And just bought a set of feeler gauges to micro adjust

A block of timber, a clamp and a set of feeler gauges later and adjusted by 1/4mm or 0.010" and she's apples.

Am happy about the result.
