Default New to routers and looking for ideas to put together wood sheaths

New to routers and looking for ideas to put together wood sheaths. I was thinking there must be a way to make a jig to cut the space for the knife to set inside the sheath. Figured I would split the wood in half, rout the shape of the blade and glue back together. When I tried freehand it did not go well.

You'd have to make a router template of the knife profile - Look up Template Tom on the forums and ask him how he would do it.

Hand tools is a good method if you only want to make one or two.

But if you have a production run of 10, say, it would pay to work out how to use your router.

Either way, accurate layout is the key to a good result.

If they sell well I'll be doing runs of them.
