    Default Table lift idea

I recently took apart a treadmill for the DC motor to power my lathe with.
It also had an AC motor that raised the base up and down and was wondering if anyone has used one of these motors for a lift system. I think it would work out well using a momentary on-off-on switch to raise and lower it. Being an AC motor, no extra adapters would be needed to power it like my DC motor needs.
Let me know if you or someone you know has tried this.

Welcome to the forum. Can’t help with your inquiry but I’m sure someone will be along to lend a hand.

One of the other gadgets you may be able to scrounge for a router lift is the "linear actuator" that powers, amongst other things, the electric recliner chairs. The ones I have seen seem to run on 14V DC and have simple switching. They will run on less volts but run slower. There are plenty of these chairs in council cleanups, all you need is pliers, wire cutters and a shifting spanner.

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve.
I have no problem with using a motor etc for a lift but not sure how it fits into using the Router.

I might be missing the point.
Are you looking at raising or lowering the whole table top. Why? Or, trying to raise and lower the Router. If so it is a bit of an overkill.

Seeing as the motor was free and I had it sitting around, I thought maybe it would make a good router lift as it is reversible and slow. Also the travel is not that long so it seemed like it might work. When I first posted this, I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it.
I'm not sure I would call it overkill, maybe just an idea. If it had a really long throw, I would probably use it to raise & lower my drill press table.
But like I said, just an idea to make something easier from something free.

I have one of these from my old electric recliner chair that I was thinking of using to make a powered lift table so I can adjust the height when I need to work on a project.
