    Default Triton table troubles

G’day all, I have a Triton RSA 300 and a Maktec 360 router. I have upgraded the attachment hardware to the latest available because I couldn’t fit the router safely to the table.
I’m not having much success with the current setup. Is there an economically viable insert, or are these tables only ‘Triton friendly?’
    Regards..
    Matt

I'm not too impressed with the new plates... I borrowed one to try mounting my Hitachi TR-12 in and literally can't find a way to mount it securely AND centred.

With the old plate (and I do mean old... the initial release of the RTA!) there's only two clamps and still only one position the Hitachi will fit. Sounds unsafe but at least it's been rock-solid in use over the last decade or so. It's the way the router's awkwardly skewed to the table in that one position, making adjustments a pita, that I was hoping the new plate would address.

With the design of the base on the Maktec I can't see the new plate being any improvement whatsoever.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Thanks for your reply.
I thought it was just my newbie incompetence. I’ll try and dig out the old plate and start again...or find a used Triton router.

Triton routers don't use those clamps - they use the 2 keyhole shaped holes. I'm surprised you can't get purchase from at least two of the clamps, which by the way can be used either end. As for your initial question, as far as I know no-one else makes an insert plate for an RTA300.

You might want to see this thread and get in touch with Gilbo.
    Any thoughts on Maktec router?

I think you may have got more responses in the Router sub-forum.

    Thanks for your reply.
After posting, I realised I had used the ‘wrong’ category and was unable to move it.
I have purchased a Triton router to mount to the table permanently.
