    Default Deck refinishing

nine months ago I sanded back to bare timbre the deck on my house. I recoated with three very liberal coats of Sikkens cetol deck. Initially it looked magic. Part of the deck is under a protective roof line and part of the deck extends out from the roof and is totally exposed to both rain and sunshine. The covered area has held up well but the exposed area has weathered to the point that I have just resanded it again and recoated three times. I have two questions for the forum. Would adding several more coats to the exposed area now when it is easy to do and clean give a longer lasting finish. My second question is whether anyone has any experience with Flood's Spa & Deck. I am going to refinish my pool deck which is completely exposed to all of the elements. Flood's advertise that as this is an acyrilic product it will last 3-5 times the oil based timbre coatings. I like the idea of not sanding this deck back and only scrubbing it with a cleaner and then giving it a blast with a high pressure blaster and then applying the three coats in one day. The house is located in Buderim Sunshine coast Qld. Thanks for any opinions/ advice that you can offer

Three coats should be plenty. I've been told there is a companion product for Cetol HLS which I think goes on top of it, giving much longer wear. Supplier should be able to tell you more.

Yes top coats of Sikkens deck would improve longevity.
I have used Spa-n-Deck and it is excellent, HOWEVER, if your deck has had a previous finish on it, you must go back to a permeable timber surface by either sanding and/or their heavy duty cleaner. The timber MUST be permeable for the first coat to bond properly else it will fail. And for maximum longevity choose the darkest tint you can tolerate to aid UV stability. Good luck!
