Cellulose varnish is a natural-products based sealer, therefore is much slower drying than Synthentic Varnish which is made from Petro-chemical products. The modern-day Polyurathane Varnishes are all, ( as far as I know ), made from a Synthentic Chemical base, which is designed to be either Turpentine thinned, ( solvent-base ), or,
    an Acrylic-base, which is water-thinned.
Suggest for more detailed info, check out the Wattyl Australia Website, as they have Technical Data Info for all their Products on that site,- www.wattyl.com.au
Another good site is Haymes Paints Australia;- www.haymespaint.com.au
Anyone can also email their respective Customer Service Departments, and ask them questions, or to use an Aussie expression, " pick their brains. "
