Epoxy fill for chopping board
Hi,
I am in the process of making a chopping board and have a few small holes in it that need to be filled.
What do you suggest I fill it with?
They are only relatively small.
Is techniglue ok?
Are there food safe epoxy's ?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Nick

You can use marine grade epoxy with much success...
I like west systems brand...

Any epoxy should be fine, they're safe when cured. You can even just use 5 min Araldite for small holes.

Is cured epoxy food safe? I was always under the impression it was The Nasty Stuff. I'd be pleased if it were ok.

Cured epoxy resins are pretty much inert. Certainly for incidental contact like on chopping boards it's fine, not sure if I'd trust it on a storage container though.
There are some with FDA approval for food contact so you can cover all bases if you were selling/using them in a commercial environment.
I'd also keep it out of the dishwasher, it can get hot enough to soften the resin. It's probably fine once it cools again, but just to be sure...
