Hi all,

I'm spraying my MDF kitchen cabinets in evic spraythane 850 and I'm having a few issues. I am getting a beautiful flat lay down of paint, no orange peel or any other imperfections except for one. When I look down the board I have a mirror finish but when I look straight into it it appears to be foggy looking.

I had the paint tech from evic come out to look at the cabinets to see if he could tell me what he thought was going wrong and said that I had swirl marks from the orbital sander that I used 320 grit to remove the last coat (which was stuffed up with a few dry areas) and he believed the gloss was sinking back into the swirl marks. He said I needed to cut it back and start again which I did by sanding with my orbital sander again using 240 grit, followed by 320 grit, followed by 600 grit to finish off with. I resprayed them and they looked beautiful, could see my reflection like a mirror and that was about 2 hours after spraying them. Left them over night came back and they had gone foggy looking again when looking into them.

I can supply pictures tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has used this brand and product number as I believe its the paint that is the problem. It's very runny stuff not thickish at all much like water and I think that it's just sinking back in somehow.

Thanks for you help
Geoff
