I used their online query form to ask who is distributing in Oz and got this reply (mid-June this year):

    "Hello,

Thank you for contacting Minwax. We appreciate your inquiry.

Unfortunately, there are no locations in Australia you can find our products at this time. Our team is working diligently to make them available to our Australian customers soon.

Please let me know if you have any further concerns or questions."

Maybe if more of it asked who their distributor in Australia is, they might be motivated to do more....
    Cheers

    Jeremy

" Coming soon " - Yes, as my father used to say - "So is Christmas". Maybe if Billyboydes gets any time after setting up their new business MACHINERY PLUS he could look into it.

100% off topic but that’s quite an impressive body of work you have there on your website Wongo. You are a prolific woodworker!

Today I received a reply from the US manufacturer saying they have no intent to re-enter the Oz market. I then sent them a link to the Oz page showing otherwise so the answer will be interesting.

I am thinking about getting (just maybe) a mate can send them to me from the US. It is a flammable liquid 3 product. Will it be a problem then to send by air?

Brett (Fence Furniture) might be able to answer that Wongo.

US Postal Service policy on flammable liquids: https://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c3_021.htm

Australian postal regulations also come into play, not that they vary too much from the US: https://auspost.com.au/content/dam/a...oods-guide.pdf

My reading of these is: No.

Minwax do make a water based wipe on polyurethane product. But otherwise, unless someone steps up to import the product we will all need to find an acceptable alternative.

I ended up getting a friend to one in the US and he posted it to me. Total cost USD$25 from Amazon plus USD$35 postage to Australia.

Thanks. The product in the US does not have a "flammable liquid" label on it. I did ask my friend to check with the post office over there first.
