Finishes for candle holders and clocks
Hello
The more read the more confused I am getting .
I am making candle holders and clocks on the CNC machine. Nothing fancy, this is all new to me, but I would like to sell them.
Question: What finish is best? Ideally something that is non toxic, simple and easy and quick to use and has a shiny finish.
The woods are various such as Blue Gum; Blackwood all sorts of Australian timber.
I have tried Livos and enjoyed that, but concerned it may not last. Someone suggested French Polish but no idea how to put it on, my method involves putting a bit on sanding half of that on and so on. Hardly quick.
Any help would be most gratefully accepted.

Wipe on Poly or similar is a fast finish.
Another slower choice is an oil finish. Something like Danish Oil - wipe it on, next day cut it back with fine (0000) wire wool and repeat daily for about a week. The shine will soon appear and it will have a lasting finish.Dragonfly
No-one suspects the dragonfly!

Thank you so much. Shall head for the shops and buy the poly.
