Default Which clear varnish for oxidised wood? Non yellowing, non reactive, water based.

Varnishing up some little bits of furniture in a 'rustic' oxidised look for a friend (its always for a friend isnt it?) and have run out of the Minwax Polycrylic that i have used in the past. I grabbed a couple of little sample tins from Bunnings and have found that they either impart a yellow finish (Cabothane Water, Feast Watson Clear Poly) or has a weird reaction with the oxidised wood and ends up blotchy (Enrich Clear).

Any suggestions on a clear varnish for this type of artificially oxidised wood? Bonus if it is water based.

Not looking for an oil finish, burnishing oil as noted in there gives a distinct yellow/gold tint from the Tung oil.
