Free stuff prize draw result
Hi Ubeaut,
Quick question:
How do you know who won the free stuff giveaway? Maybe I just don't understand the rules.
Thanks
Brian

It may be good to edit the initial post with the winner and end of the giveaway, help with the confusion.
Cheers

I'm betting a change in the banner would go a long way to stop new posts too !

TO THOSE WHO ARE CONFUSED
I've gone green and big to help the confused (maybe) understand/get it. If you read the first post in any of the Free Prize Draws threads you will know that to win the prize you have to work at it and the same to claim the prize.
Nothing in life is free (even the forums and Free stuff Prize Draws) there's always a catch with free stuff. Yes it's all free. But you have to work for it becoming a member, abiding by rules, participate, etc to get it.
EG: To enter it says:
Please read the following carefully:
* To win you must respond by typing "I'm in." in this thread *
*Do not enter anything other than I'm in, or your entry will be deleted*
*No signatures from Tapatalk, iPhone, Android phone or personal signature, etc*
*If a signature is entered automatically edit the post and uncheck "Show your signature"*
*Do not make comments or Reply With Quote or your entry will be deleted*
*ONLY those who respond in this thread are eligible to win**Only registered members can enter*
Signatures, comments and quotes are the reason why 23 entries were deleted from this draw. Some were not only deleted from this draw but have been deleted from numerous previous draws over the years.
Ever new members who basically registered to enter the draw and have never posted got it sight and only one of them was deleted.
The first post goes on to say:
PLEASE NOTEEntrants actually got this one and since the Sept 2014 draws it hasn't been a problem. Although it did take 114 draws and banning for the following draw for some to get that cheating didn't help.
RESPOND ONCE ONLY!
More than once will not give you more chances of winning
but it will see your response(s) deleted making you ineligible.
Not a hard read. Simplified rules spell it out for even the dumbest amongst us. If they are read.
CLAIMING THE PRIZE:CAN'T MAKE IT MUCH MORE SIMPLE THAN THE ABOVE, highlighted in blue and enlarged so it's not missed.
Winner will not be notified.
Only by viewing this thread will the winner find out who they are.
Winner will have until: 5:00pm AET Saturday 19th September 2020
to claim their prize by responding to this thread, indicating he/she is aware they've won.
UNCLAIMED PRIZE:
If the prize is not claimed in the time allotted, there will be a redraw.
The bottom lineCheers - Neil
YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT.
If you don't like it don't enter it and don't complain or whine about it!
If you want to know if you were the winner you have to look for the drawn info that's not too hard to do. Go to the last page and scroll up and back until you find a massive announcement in the middle of a heap of "I'm ins" how hard is that. Not very and could take as much as 15 seconds.

The big blurb was actually aimed at the 4 who posted "I'm in" after it was all over. I deleted 3 almost straight away and another one that I missed was deleted about an hour ago. A 5th one was deleted by the poster straight after he realised what he'd done.
The other reason was for those who just have to post something extra when they enter, 23 who couldn't follow that easy rule were deleted. One of them could have won this one had they not posted extra stuff.

Neil
for next the next draw, if there is one, should I have responded:
I'm in. Note the included PERIOD
or
I'm in, Note the included COMMA
or
I'm in Note there is no included STOP or COMMA
and
should I have BOLDED my "I'm in" response or used just used unbolded text to say "I'm in" or does it not matter?
and
of course I realise that in all cases I should not include the quotation marks
I get that the rules preclude using italics to respond "I'm in" but it's unclear if they require the "I'm in" response be in bold or plain text.
you are correct, I'm having a bit of fun ...
Thanks to the donor of the Marples chisel set and congratulations to Enfield Guyregards from Alberta, Canada

Hahaha Hey you moved Canada. You probably shouldn't even bother entering any more unless you're prepared to pay twice the price of the prize to get it delivered. Long way to Bunnies to redeem gift card, etc, etc.
For the smart-Alex who just can't help them selves and want to stand out from the rest by pushing the boundaries and look foolish and you know who you are. Below is a small list of what I really don't care about.
The I'm in nothing else thing was done to try and keep it a bit orderly/uniform, make it easier to scan for problems and actually make members work for it as previously outlined
None of the dumb stuff will help anyone to win it will just make you stand out as being a bit foolish.
The draw is done using a random number generator. Not by someone looking for the most foolish or outlandish entry.
