As to playing that would be one of the easier instruments to start with. Tune to an open chord, grab a slide and have a go.
If you google things like cigar box guitar, slide and how to play there is plenty info to get started.

That's a cute instrument kiwi...nice work.

Well done, looks great. Four stringers make good travel companions to have a beat around on, I usually tune mine like a banjo.

Thanks everyone. I've had a slide player test it, after he thrashed it it started to settle down, holds it's tune well now. I originally had the strings 9mm from 19th fret but unfortunately I listened to someone who has no slide knowledge and dropped the strings right down, now it buzzes on the frets when you slide...oh well, I just need to remake the nut and saddle. Another issue is it's quite quiet because of the internal frame, it's diluting the sound a bit, I may put a pick up in it, though a Luthier suggested I could run a rod(wooden) from just under the bridge to the back of the body to transfer the vibrations to the back where there's not much wood.

Probably going to recreate the same guitar next but as a 6 string. Will need to have an adjustable truss rod so if anyone has some pointers or tutorials it would be much appreciated.

After you build that first one you just can't stop. Welcome to the slippery slope.
As for the string height I would just leave it and play that one with the fingers. Pure slide you can get away with no frets at all. You did say you were building more.
As for 6 string you will likely need a truss rod and to my mind getting beyond what CBG style instruments are about. That is quite basic which is the beauty of them. The trashey wrong side of the tracks sound is the goal. It's the blues calling.
There's tons of CBG building ideas on the net. I usually plan my builds around what materials I have and go from there. There are plenty other things to make a sound box from. Cigar boxes you can get on ebay for 10 to 20 bucks or just build a wood box yourself. I have seen old VW hubcaps used. Baking tins and dog bowls used as resonators.
