Anyone in Adelaide have a large Bandsaw
Hey All
I recently purchased some queensland maple from David Kirby (also a member on this forum)
Im hoping someone in Adelaide has a bandsaw capable of bookmatching some fiddleback qld maple for me
Unfortunately I dont own one yet
Im quite willing to compensate in the way of cash or whatever
I hoping to get this done in the next 4 to 8 weeks, so theres no hurry
Id feel a lot more comfortable dealing with one of you rather than a timber yard/joinery
If anyone can help it would be greatfully appreciated

How large does this bandsaw need to be?

Thanks for the reply, Tankstand
It would have to be 14" or bigger, and more importantly the blade
would have to be wider than the norm

You really need to tell us what thickness and width you need to cut, for example, I have a 6" x 3" board at 12" long that I want to re-saw into two 6" x 1 1/2" x 12" boards.
Some members may have a 14" saw, but it might not be capable of doing the above or they don't have the correct blades to do the jobCheers

Sorry for not being explicit Dayvo, I have an 18" saw (Wheel Diameter) which can cut 300mm high material.

I did something similar once on a table saw. Wind it up to the maximum height and cut one side. flip it and cut the other side. Use a hand saw to cut through any remaining wood. use a thicknesser to smooth it. Mine was a similar sized piece of figured american maple.
