If you don't mind me saying so Peter, those cavities look not unlike those of a red special

Hey wal, do they? Can't say I know what the cavities of a red special look like. The cavities are just what I think suit the structure and tone of the instrument. This particular build I adjusted the cavity to suit a belly cut

Top work Peter. I love the veneer showing through in the belly cut.
Really sets it off I think

    Thanks Mark,

Working up the concept for Als custom 12 fret inlay was a bit of fun. He said that he wanted something inspired by the ocean/surfing, so I drummed up a few concepts. With a bit of tooing and fro-ing he settled on the below.

The paua blanks. It is very difficult to get quality cuts ou of paua. It is very exy with alot of scraps. but does look great

    The wave cut out

The inlay marked ready for routing

    Gluing in the shell

And the inlay roughly leveled ready for tapering.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    G'day Pete,

Hope you've been on top of your game.

    Looking really great, mate.
Loving the white lamination along the back peering out from the belly carve.
Classy stuff as is always shown in your work.
