I am sure CBGs breed. Latest addition.
Hi,
Well as the title says yet another one. Cant help myself. It is a baritone uke with 20'' scale length. I did not do a buildalong as that has been covered many times but will make a few observations from this build. There are also a couple of stuff ups that you may spot in the pics but I will let you find them.
For a while now I have observed that a home built box usually sounds better and louder than a cigar box for fairly obvious reasons. I was pondering ways to get volume and sustain and may have just struck the right note with this one. My aim was to increase the bridge height so more of the string energy goes into the soundboard. Is my thinking on the right track here? I did this by the neck angle like on a violin or archtop.
Anyhoo whatever I did seems to have worked as it is the best sounding one I have made so far. I also braced across the top where the bridge is so that may have helped also. Has a pickup but that will seldom be needed.
Regards
John

It is called the 'break angle'
Gibson Les Paul guitars have the angled back neck set to allow for the higher bridge too.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
