Thanks Bill and Mike.
Just the machine head holes drilled today. The guitar will have some nice gold M6 Schaller machine heads. I will fit these soon so I can locate the tailpiece and make sure eveything lines up. The pickup arrived so I will glue it to the pick guard shortly. Some fine sanding and the guitar is ready for finish.
Here is a picture of progress
Cheers

Hello to you all. Inlay is the go this weekend. I use pearl segments that you can buy for rosette use for my H logo and my 12th frett marker.
Here are a few pictures as usual.

love the idea of the pearl segments - got a nice loose organic feel with a technique that can get way too rigid and geometric

Hi to you all,
Managed some more progress on the archie. The edges have been rounded over and the pickup has been epoxied to the pickguard. I have also fitted the pickguard to the neck and I did a mock dress up to see how she will look.
Cheers

Five French Polish sessions finished. A session usually takes four hours and I go around the guitar about four times. Two more should do it. You can see in the first picture the spruce top has runout on one half. That gave me some grief when I was carving the top. I am pleased though that the top is resonant. Should sound real good!
Here are a few pictures:

Hi Alan, Love music, especially folk and blues but that's where it finishes, no musical talent at all.
While I will probably never attempt a guitar build I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this WIP so far.
Thanks for sharing, hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Just went through this post - and I was captivated.
It was truly great to see the guitar take shape and grow.
The wood looks great with the natural finish and i like the shape you have put into the neck.
A really, really nice job.
I bet it will sound superb.

I may have missed this somewhere in the thread while gaping in awe at this instrument....how do you get to the neck bolts once the box is closed? Do you have a long driver that goes through the endpin hole? Or is there another trick?

Thanks Floody and Enelef for your comments.
BDG: Yes I made a tool from 6mm rod with a T one end and the correct Allen key the other. I just have to take out the jack at the butt of the guitar and insert the tool to attach or take off the neck. Works a treat.
Cheers

Very nice. I like the use of purfling pieces for inlay.
