Go bars
What do you guys use for your go bars?
I was wondering if some 2mm * 25mm perspex would work?
Or a laminate of some description?
I have had very poor results with dowels and timber, they seem to loose about 15% clamping power over an hour long period (I clamped a set of scales if you are wondering) and I am reluctant to pay $80 for a set of stewmac ones.
Any ideas?Cheers!Mongrel

I got some fibreglass rods from my local FG suppliers place. I use 6mm for most stuff but have some 8mm ones for heavy clamping. I put rubber stops on one end. That's all the SM ones are anyway. Why pay frieght?

kite shops are good for fibreglass rods

The closest thing I have to a kite shop here would be Toyworld.
I have been ringing around a few places re fibreglass, and if I want my boat (Which i dont have) patched, no worries, but fibreglass stock seems a bit of a novelty item.
Thats why I was wondering about the acrylic, I can get my hands on some without too much trouble and would be able to cut it to appropriate width on the bandsaw.
Keep 'em comming!Cheers!Mongrel

No worries Mongral,we are all round here to help each other.
I found them down there a while ago and I thought that they were pretty cheap compared to the alternatives.
I picked up some 3mt lengths off them and chopped them up as I wanted them.Good people too.
Cheers

Yes, I would recommend them to anyone, prompt and courteous, (I havent recieved them yet, but they've been great so far). Their website is really helpful too in that they have a flexability vrs diameter vrs pressure guide.
Cheers!Mongrel
