BluesTone guitars in progress
G'day all.
I'm opening this thread up for a catchall with everything I'm building or
completed so as to keep them all within the one area.
This should also make me post a little more often as well.
I'll start with pics of the workshop
Guitar build pics will start rolling tomorrow.

Nice shop Stu, I seee you like making templates more than guitars, there's like 20 of those yet only one guitar. I hate making templates, do you want to make mine?
What's with the Carbatec jointer with what looks like a big boy sander instead of its fence? Is this powered or you just put a belt on the fence for...?

Heyyyyy....Shiny
Line the ceiling, paint the walls white and you could rent it out to a couple of Surgeons while your out at work.

Howdy Phil.
The jointer is indeed still a jointer, just with a strip of sandpaper temporarily on the fence for
a sanding board. That's gone now.
Yep. a few templates..........but then again you can't see what else is stashed away in the drawers either !!!!!.
Andy And Jim, it maybe relatively clean in the pics. but it definitely doesn't stay that way.
It starts off clean until I progressively pull tools and stuff out of the storage drawers,
then it's like armageddon !!!.

Very tidy workshop and build you got going there. Nice to see your trademark neckthrough again. I see you are getting your fix with carving out of that top. I will enjoy seeing what you will do with the finish. I am envious of your bandsaw and drum sander.
Cheers,
Peter

one of the best neck thrus i have seen man...
this has probly been addressed a million times before, but,
i see that your tummy cuts are towards the butt end of the geetar,
and your top horn seems large,
im guessing they not only look good, but they have been designed to have a great balance?

I like the way you have used the colour of that Tassie Oak and I like even more that the way you use those stripes in the neck remind me of early Grecos which are my favorite Japanese guitar.
Also I think Tassie oak is a good choice for the back of that Maple as they both have around the same movement in service. I have a body here that I started and used Tassie oak to back some Fiddle Back Maple, mine would be a bolt on though.
Jim
This site tells me I spell "colour" wrong, I refuse to listen to it.

G'Day Stu,
Guitars looking bloody great so is the workshop, If I lived in Melbourne I would be in your Workshop every day, Ha, Ha, but then again I would miss my timber here in Tassie.
Cheers Bob.

I found some pics of that bit of Tassie Oak I used to back the Fiddle Back with. The body is basically a Fender Bullet shape with reduced horns and will be left flat like a bullet as well. This Maple was From Perry and is from his cheaper stock.

That's Rock Maple stuck to the Euc Bob although I would be happy to get my hand on some Tassie Oak like that.

Or can you see that little bit of figure in the Tassie Oak. I just checked the body and there is a little bit of figure in it too but I can't see it in the pic, maybe your eyes are better than mine.
