    Thanks Floody!
Its funny, ive had a few inquiries about a few different kinds of woods that I have at hand, but if they dont sell, I use them for my builds,,,, then they want to buy when the wood is already used.
Just so everyone is up to speed,,, the Blackwood strat is for sale and I only have 1 piece of Blackwood left (different lot though - flame). But thats eventually being bookmatched for an acoustic.
I have however started another flame Blackwood Strat body Rough shaped with the pup and lead cavities partly done.

Ohhhh, btw, is anyone going to the Tamworth Festival in the new year?
Im trying to get $$$$$$-ed up, so I can get there,,,, and back, so im not sure if ill actually get there this year,,,, but I hope to.
Should be a blast, reguardless of the rednecks and their redneck music

Your arch top seems very well shaped. Thats one thing that I luv and loath doing. Takes ages to get it just right, but the results are always worth the effort.
I step route mine, then sand out the stepped edges. Seems to work fine, but id brutalize a cute furry animal for the sake of a CNC cutter, if only to do the arch tops.
Yes I step routed mine as well as you probably know but it's quite laborious, that's why I made this

I actually built it for a friend, I hope he lets me borrow it from time to time .

Good stuff Wal,,,, The jig table does do the arch tops, yes? Not just for flat routing?
If so, you may be happy to know theres a much easier way to get the same or at least similar results,,,, but ill have to find the pic to show you.
Its simply 2 PVC tubes with an MDF frame sitting on top, that slide X and Y, but on a curve!
I was thinking of making one myself, but need the space to do it.
Yours may be much more effective though.
Id love to see some of your test results to get a better idea.

Yes the copy carver does complete arch top carving.

Yes I'd be very interested to see the pics of the pvc tube and mdf frame system.

    regards

Finish is drying as we speak, not sure I like the colour but procrastinating was slowing me down so I bit the bullet, after that all that's left is to make the pickups.

I bought some kits from stewmacs but I think I'll do what Oz did and build my own.

Good to hear from ya boyo.

    regards
