    I've got a line on a cheap 6 cyl 1967 Mustang... About $3000.

But you have to ship it over from California.

Getting back to the bench thing - my first one was too light and floppy - it could actually hinder your work. Whenever you were doing something with a bit of "back" in it, the whole bench would shudder or move slightly! That was a cheap hardware shop bench and I rebraced it with big diagonal crosses at the rear, added a new board across the front and a screwed down lower shelf. Still a bit short, but it was a cheap fix that made a huge difference.

Higher the power higher the insurance!

Have you considered using your router to smooth the scarf joint? You could make a jig like this:

Shooting board is your best bet for the body gluing edge. Pitty the grain direction of the body rules out using the router for squaring it up. Before i got a jointer my method to square and straighten edges was with the router. But your body risks taking out a chunk of the mahogany cause the grain doesn't run parallel to that edge.

either a r33 skyline or a s13 silvia. i prefer the skyline but i duno, lets see how much i can save up in 3 years.
got the fretboard from luthiers mercantile international, bloodwood 24 frets 25.5 inch scale.

addo i like the looks of that mustang, how many km's has it got?
my mini workbench is my main one cos its portable and i do all the sanding and routing and stuff on that and use the big one for the vice and i got a drill press on that.

i'll just be patient and use the shooting board.

get a vw for 3000 for one in good condition

who wants to go fast, just means you wont be able to keep your license, especially with the new laws for p platers (atleast in nsw). im still driving the vw from when i got my L plates. reliable vehicles, but im drunk now so i wont drive it.

Thats true, but if a smart person drove that car they would keep it to the track

Anyway i think i will make that jig that archer posted, bit easier than hand planing it!

Looks like you've got that typical curse of jigsaws - the blade canting over to give a less than perpendicular cut. Centre join seems pretty respectable.

You'll be able to mark out a centre line, the 24th fret position and then work from there to get the pickups routed in, and all controls sorted. Don't sweat the edges too much right now; having the guts of it finished will be a big motivator.

Got another test booked yet? Mustang now $2500 cash.

Left hand drive, no idea on mileage, shipping not included. But as a six-cylinder car, a P-plater can legally drive it.

Anyway, by the time you get to the test the guitar should be about ready for paint - if not painted. Have you made the pickup routing templates?

it should be ready by then, if i dont get too lazy.
i've made the templates for pickup routing and also the control cavity.

hmmm left hand drive, do u need a special licence for left hand drive cars? and is it manual?
