Hi,
Finally done with the guitar.
I used Carbots Liming Stain & Varnish with watsons golden teak and cedar stains. Its a polyurethane finish.
The 8 hour drying time and runniness made it real tough for me.
I had to redo the paint work 3 times to get the finish to look decent.
Body is a warmoth 2 piece swamp ash and neck was finished with tru-oil.
First diy guitar, am quite proud of it.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Its getting a little fret buzz even with 1.5mm of action at 12th fret.
The frets are untouched and I reckon I need to level and dress them.
Apart from that, the bridge sounds bright and twangy like a tele, the neck pu is a dimarzio mini and it sounds awesome, roll the tone down 1/4 and you get a nice jazzy tone.

bonzer mate you done a great job there
bet that firebird pickup sounds real nice
btw you will be lucky if you ever find a neck you can plug straight in without having to do a level, crown and polish
good idea to put that on the job list as part of the build so when you do finally put it together everything is done and dustedray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'
