    Does anyone know this book: Double Bass Making by Bob Hitchings - is it any good

    I don't know Bob Hitchings book but plenty of people have used it. Another one is Peter Chandlers book which also has a range of plans you can choose from. Hitchings book, I think, only has one pattern. I'm sure neither is perfect If i were you i'd get them both ... the cost of the books is NOTHING compared to what you'll spend on tools and the wood and time ...
